Avocado

Description

People often think these little powerhouses are unhealthy because of their oil content. But do yourself a favour and add them to your diet wherever possible. You will be glad that you did!

High cholesterol

Avocados are very high in a fatty acid called oleic acid, also found in olive oil, which many trials shave shown causes a reduction in bad (LDL) cholesterol, and a subtle increase of good (HDL) cholesterol.

Skin health

Avocados are also very high in the fat-soluble antioxidant vitamin E. This helps protect skin cell membranes from chemical damage, and can be an important part of a natural skincare regime.

Heart & circulation

The high vitamin E content of avocado makes it a wonderful food for heart health. Vitamin E is a natural anticoagulant, meaning it reduces blood clotting activity and may offer protective benefit against heart attack and stroke.
